What to Expect?
Those who visit in the morning act wisely. Yet it seems to us that anyone who visits at all acts wisely — and that we should do it more often. Morozkino seeks to introduce the works of contemporary artists to its audience in an informal and welcoming atmosphere, by visiting beloved places. So alongside “spectacle,” there will be plenty of “bread” — special menus created by chefs together with the Morozkino team, welcoming bread with butter and hot tea, a beautiful book as a gift, and many more pleasant surprises.
Where Will This Happen?
Carefully selected works from the Morozkino House-Gallery will travel across Moscow, becoming part of new spaces. Each location is different and beloved in its own way, and in each one the collection reveals itself from a new perspective, accompanied by a unique collaboration with the venue. You can explore the schedule below and add these dates to your calendar of pleasures.
Concept
Friends of friends are always wonderful. We believe that the opportunity to visit one another is a true value — and one that should be embraced more often. This is how the idea of gastro pop-ups was born.
Morozkino is a house-gallery of Russian culture. It is a personal story that became a reason to experience together the emotions we so often lack time for. The gallery is in constant search of authentic art, aiming to reveal its full spectrum and introduce new names. It is important for the project to give contemporary artists a platform to be seen. The collection includes both established masters and emerging artists — creators who together shape the diversity of Russian culture today.
Morozkino arrives for a short while, bringing with it works of art, something delicious set upon delicate lace, unexpected gifts, and honest conversation — all in the hope of a lasting friendship.
Schedule
Tilda — 17/04–23/04
5 Sytynsky Lane
A beloved intimate space where our journey begins. A painting from our collection will appear in a new setting — to be enjoyed alongside a special drink inspired by the philosophy of Morozkino.
Parabola — 24/04–21/05
21 Vorontsovskaya St., bldg. 1
The second location will present a larger exhibition of works from the Morozkino collection, along with a special menu by the chef, created at the intersection of Italian and Russian cultures — which, as it turns out, have more in common than one might expect.
What Did You Eat? — 08/05–21/05
2/6 bldg. 7 Romanov Lane
The third event will tell the story of the friendship between Morozkino House-Gallery, the restaurant What Did You Eat?, and the publishing house Eksmo. Together, we will immerse guests in the richness and history of Russian culture. Morozkino will introduce contemporary artists and offer welcoming bread and salt. Eksmo will speak about classical writers and present selected books, each with a secret gift from Morozkino inside. What Did You Eat? will create a special menu inspired by memories of holidays spent at a grandmother’s home.
